A 3-Dimensional Numerical Thermal Analysis for A Vertical Double U-Tube Ground-Coupled Heat Pump

The ground heat exchanger plays a major role in the thermal performance and economic optimization of ground-coupled pump. present study focuses on effect borehole size grout soil properties assessment these exchangers. A double U-tube was studied numerically by COMSOL Multiphysics 5.4 software 3-dimensional discretization model. circuited as parallel flow arrangement situated configuration (PFPD) deep borehole. conductivities were selected range (0.73-2.0) W/m.K (1.24-2.8) respectively. results revealed that conductivity showed more pronounced influence with less extent for grouting one. Increasing filling from (0.73) to (2.0) at fixed (2.4) has augmented transfer rate (10) %. exhibited marked enhancement much when increased (1.24) (2.8) (0.78-2.0) W/m.K. It been verified increasing negligible high utilized ranged examined configurations. steady-state numerical analysis model outcomes work could be implemented preliminary design exchanger.
